I don't know why you say SS collars are neck braces.SS doesn't just sell 2 inch collars if people ask for a 2inch collar than that's there choice he just makes it to the customers specification if it looks too big and bulky than that's not SS fault is it it's the customers fault for asking for it .

1.5"- ok for meduim-large type lurchers.

2"- bull x's, strongdogs etc.

Had shit loads of collars of aron, you either like them or you don't there not everones cup of tea! I prefere ss gear for stronger type dogs but like traditional leather on lurchers. I bought two in the summer 1.5 one looked ok on one of my dogs the other was abit overkill so i sold it to my cousin and it looks good on his bull, each to there own end of the day. I'd personaly not go for one of them relic collars or ss for a whippet, I own a whippet and she perfectly happy with an 8 pound leather whippet collar from the pet shop, nice and light and will out last her plus never need cleaning.
