plenty of rabbits here

Recommended Posts

i was out this morning with my eldest lad on a local farm ,theres always a lot of rabbits on this place ,a but there is still a lot of cover ,the first set we done at the side of a bridge,we had ten out of that Picture092-1.jpg

then we moved on to a long set in a hedgerow, the three girls flew through this set netting another nine ,then killing one,it was only a foot down ,and all the ferrets were on it, so we quit that set while we were ahead

the dog marked a two holer in a sheep field ,we netted it up then watched three rabbits bolt out of a unnetted hole about ten yards out into the field ,my asthma kicked in at this point, and my inhailer was empty so i had to call it a day. My lad carried on alone and ended the day with forty two rabbits

in the last picture theres an old pit where they took out sand and gravel before the first world war one, about six years ago me and my three lads ferreted it ,and had eighty rabbits in a day , i don't have the ferrets to tackle it nowdays ,or the customers for the rabbits but its still nice to see plenty about.

Good write up and pics mate, cheers for sharing  Which part of the world are you in? PM if you like.

Leicestershire.

Nice mate, my misses lived in leicester for a bit, and there is some lovely country up there, i always wondered if it held many rabbits, there seemed to be plenty of deer about. No blue legs this time?

Loads of blue legs down here,i've had my fill of them ,i just leave them in the fields now, one of my lads sold a load of them to a man in Brum last week,he took £4 a kilo ,made a pot of dough for a couple of hours work.
