What would be better for daytime/lamping rabbits

 

A full whippet or a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy?

beddy/ whippet id say mate. a few mates have got em and theyre mustard on rabbits. real tough for their size and what they lack in size, they dont half make up for it in heart. only thing to wotch id say is yapping but only seems to happen when theyre run in pairs alot cos they get a bit frustrated i think. and as the above have alredy said hardier on the cold nights out and just physically tougher, especially skin wise as pure whippets pick up tears and cuts easily. ive heard of pure beddys finding some success lamping rabbits so you wont be sacrificing lots of speed especially in the cross you sound like your looking at. plus they look the part! cheers

Beddy whippets great but nout much different from a normal whippet apart from the coat. Pure whippets are easy to train and under esimated in terms of hardiness. They can just sometimes have skin that can easily tear, but so do most lurchers. But if your working through thick cover beddy best, lamping go for a pure whippet, thats just my opinion

yeah i had my pure whiipet out the other night caught her first rabbit on the lamp i was go to put her over a 1/4 whippet 3/4 beddy and keep a pup but I think ill just get another pure whippet with sooty sam lines etc as my mate has a pup from glen strike while the iron is hot
