simonrocco 175 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Share Posted December 4, 2011 hi there i have just been bought a 25yrd longnet for xmas i was just wanting a bit of advise on how to set it as im new to longnetting how many poles do i use on it and how far apart do i set them also where is the best palce to buy poles and end pins from any advice would be much appreciated thanks atb Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,426 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Share Posted December 4, 2011 Unless your going for the basket method mate you don't need to buy poles, cut some straight privet or hazel as thick as your finger and as long as you want. I'd use 5 on the net. If you want it as a quick set you won't need end pins. There's a few online suppliers who sell poles and pins whichever you decide on. Apparently golf course flags are quite good for quickset poles Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Share Posted December 4, 2011 ill give you a pair of end pins for postage money.. there 5 inch ring but thats a good thing if your new to longnetting as the net wont go over the ring and mess it up for you.they will need paint. i would use 7 pegs if your traditional netting, but we all do it different let me know by p.m. if you want them 1 Quote Link to post
