COLD BUT ENJOYABLE.

As is the norm on a Sunday I took my middle son Declan to Dumfries and he was on the bus to Perth to play St Johnstone. When I got back my eldest Dylan had already left with the ferrets so after a cuppa and a bit of toast I got Molly and set off to see how he was doing.

When I arrived he was in the middle of doing a bury and had 2 rabbits in the bag, no more bolted so we headed off to find more buries. After walking past a couple Molly marked the third bury so we put the nets on and stood back.

It wasn't long before the draw cord stretched and Dylan was onto it quickly.

We then moved into the wood and Molly gave us a strong mark so we netted up and waited.

Again we didn't have to wait long for the net to be stretched, the ferret was out right behind the rabbit and nabbed it in the net.

The next rabbit that bolted escaped the net and took off uphill through the wood with Molly in pursuit. The rabbit must've ran bye a few buries but didn't enter any and eventually it dissapeared over the brow of the hill at the top of the wood with Molly behind it.

A few seconds later Molly reappeared with the rabbit in her mouth and carried it all the way back.

As we were playing the waiting game during a lull in the procedings we got a visitor.

It was noticeably colder today, there was snow on the higher ground and we had the occasional snow/sleet shower that had us hiding behind the trunk of a tree as the wind blew it into the wood.

We managed to get another 2 rabbits before we decided to head home.
