We been shooting alot over maize stubble but now its been ploughed in and all the acorns have been gleaned the birds have switched to OSR in the last week.

Recced a load on a field friday afternoon and with a single sitty tree in the centre they where all pitching into that before going into the field.

So got there before dawn lofters up only the flappers on the whirly.

As soon as light broke the birds in ones and twos started to drift to the tree drawn by the lofters.

A steady bag of birds where falling I packed up at 0930hrs with 26 birds.

As a night on the thames was in order piking which also accounted for a 10 or so jacks and one 20lb cracker along with my biggest perch of 3 1/2lbs.

A great weekend of sport and with the weather set to turn I cant wait.

bit of a pain because I dont have any lofting poles

just place some decoys around the base of an oak and set a hide up to the side
