skycat 6,173
Epsom salts can cause diarrhoea and therefore dehydration. It is a very old fashioned and not very dog friendly method of 'drying' a bitch up. There is something a lot safer and kinder which does the same thing with no detriment to the bitch. It is called Urtica Urens 3x. It is a homeopathic remedy, and whilst a lot of people snigger at alternative medicine, I know from experience that Urtica Urens is very efficient. I've used it both to increase milk production (in a high strength) and to reduce milk production in the low strength (3x). You can get Urtica Urens from here: http://www.dorwest.com/Catalogue/Homoeopathic-Remedies/Urtica-Urens-3C-THREE--100-pillules It is important not to touch the pills, just drop them into the cap of the bottle and tip directly into the dog's mouth: do not add to food or water. They work best when given between meals. Quote Link to post
