what is the chance of getting a Fac shotgun on open ticket on the approval of application ? regards benji

Sorry, just to clarify, do you have an FAC already or are you waiting for approval of your first FAC?

 

Either way if you can demonstrate a good reason and suitable land over which you have permission to shoot you should get what you want.

 

I know that there are members on here who have been given an open ticket on first grant but again you need good reason (proffessional pest controllers generally) and this is unusual rather than then norm.

 

If its your first grant without very good reason you are unlikely to get an open ticket. I don't have a shotgun slot on my FAC but as I understand it generally corvid control is the usual reason for needing one.

pest species of bird is what the police like to hear when applying for sec1 shotgun, i got mine on 1st app, and another on my 2nd, there's some dispute over the "open" status of sec1 shotguns, i spoke to my feo and he said that as it's a shotgun i could pretty much use it anywhere i had permission, inc clay grounds. However, just to be on the safe side he opened up the whole ticket, c/fs the lot.
