rossi_j 99
Out today with mike off this site at a local farm, we met on the track at about 10am (well it is sunday after all). We approached the hedgerow we were planning on doing and quickly decided the best/lazyest way to do things was going to be longnet up each side of the hedge and let the dogs/ferts do the work, moving the nets as we went, first rabbit bolted out my way and hit the net, sky held it down while i got to her, only just hit the net mind, another foot and it would have been out into the field (just as mutch fun with good dogs on hand), Second rabbit was to mike , the only thing that gave it away as i couldent see is that tell.tale bolt noise, mike called rabbit to confirm, Waiting to progress without all ferrets accounted for brought out the locator, so after a 20min walk to get the spade from the car (oops), a 30 second dig down 2 ft ish, broke through ontop of a very dead rabbit and my jill, no 3 in the bag Walking back to the car we discoverd a few holes in a bank either side of a dried up brook and had a half assed attempt at that also, here a couple evaded the dogs through cover and only one hit the nett we had set in the ditch between and magic did the honor of stopping it dead in its tracks. In conclusion a good couple hours were had with four in the bag and a few left for another day, a good crack was had and the team got a bit of exercise i could write a lot more but i dont want to make to big deal over a couple of rabbits .Atb. .Ste. Yours just happened to fall asleep on top of it. They are all doing really well seeing as they are all newbies. Will have to meet up soon Johnny and get out together. Mike Quote Link to post

Mike Steady now lads didn't want to cause any un-ease in the camp. I'm glad you're sorted Mike after the troubles you had on the fert front in the summer. Quote Link to post
