I think if you've never used one before then you do not understand their value untill you've witnessed it first hand,a lurchers back only has to be slightly out for it to run all wrong or any joint for that matter, the lad that said "clicker Ken" always does the same thing, well most do as its a test of every joint to identify where the problem lies,I have 2 freinds that can boneset and both are good greyhound men, they run their hands over my dogs whenever I feel somethings not quite right and the difference one good click can make to the performance of a dog has to be seen to be believed,I even took my terrier dog to him when the vet said there was nothing more he could do for him,he was walking backwards with the pain and could'nt bend to sh*t,one trip to my mates and he made me hold him while he stretched and pushed his joint in his spine back in to place, the dog was right as anything and back to his best the day after,a good bonesetter is well worth a trip if your dog is just not right and you can't put your finger on exactly what it is,atb,WM

A good one one is worth there weight in gold ...there must be loads of lads out there .who run dogs and dont use them ...somtimes looking at there dogs and wondering why it isnt running right i.e. catching what it would normally catch but no obvious signs of lamenes or anything else...but you just know theres somthing that aint right .....i would give me right arm to be able to do what they can do..i was watching one yesterday and it unbelieveble how good this man is...if there was one nearer to me that was a good un ..i would latch on to him like you wouldnt beleive ... :D ..theres no dog tracks round me so hard to find anyone to learn from... shame there isnt any courses you can go on to learn that sort of thing...if anybody knows of any or can get links up to any it would be much appreciated.....i remember one instance where my dog wasnt right a couple of seasons ago ...i took him to the vets and he didnt have a clue ..and gave me some antibiotics and some steroids ..which i still have in my dog first aid cupboard today ..because i wanted a second opinion so took him to a bone and he sorted him ...its a long story ....but basicly he clicked him in.. a few days rest and he was a different dog.....

The same man gave me a different whippet. I used to get so frustrated with him choosing his runs, never jumped. No wonder with the amount of stuff wrong with him. After Steve saw him the dog has a huge prey drive and jumps for fun. I really dont know what i would do without him now, his advice is invaluable. And the thing about Steve, he doesnt do it for money, nor for owners, he does it for the dogs

I think many people are kidding themselves including me when we go to these so called bone men.

I have used grehound vets Plunkit Devil first then Dennis Beary who i believed was trianed by Plunkit and Richard Torr.

When you watch any of these check a dog it has to been seen and the lenght of time taken to check the dog is significant and they never fail to find the injury, undertake treatment and give superb advice on managing the dog to aid succesfull recovery. The price charged is very different from your pet dog vets.

I took a dog to one of these bone men with a toe injury who said the dog was completly sound and he adviced to get it run.

I was not happy with the dog and took it to Richard Torr. The dog had damaged ligaments in the toe and a jiont.

We all try to save a buck especially in the current climate and there is no doubt these bone men are cheap but you only get what you pay for in this world.

This is only my experience and i know a lot of people use these people including some top greyhound trainers so maybe its finding the right man.

paul evans is a decent runningdog vet .hes seems pretty good with dogs feet too .but he aint a boneman ....never will be...and over the last couple of years paul seems to be getting like the rest of the vets ...only to glad to give you some antibotics or anti inflamtrys ...without giving you a good reason...he also said that my mates bitch was 100% in pup ....and she wasnt....hes gone down in my book ....
