muddy210 34
trouble with dry food usually is keeping the weight down personally i would not use cat food not best suited to ferrets digestion could be worms i suppose if they wont put weight on or just skinny ferts i have to watch the weight of mine through the summer when they are on the dry asthey usually pile the weight on if not watched closely. bunnywhacker 7
mine have slowed down on there eating one of my jills came into season three weeks ago and had a jill jab the vet reckons it is due to the warm weather we are having at this time of year Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Up the minced beef. The ferrets will be using more calories to keep warm as the temperature drops so you need to feed more. By the cheap no frills frozen stuff from the supermarkets as it's got a high fat content. I use chicken portions which I defrost as needed. There's plenty of fat on them, and the ferrets always seem to hold their weight though the winter on them. Quote Link to post
ferret100 47
Wouldn't do any harm to worm them, then you can eliminate a worm issue. There are some foods you can get to put weight on them. Usually you have to buy from vets. Hills a/d & Royal Canin convalscence are great for putting weight on. Here's a link to the cheapest I can find online, they sell the tins etc individually, everywhere else sells them in bulk. http://www.fuzziebuddies.co.uk/speciality-foods/ Hope your ferts pick up weight soon. It's starting to get cold now..... Quote Link to post
