Try not to bathe the dogs, i think the dogs have to have been dry 48hrs prior and after frontlining. Try Stronghold if the frontline is not good enough, i find it much better, but you can only get it

hi frontline and stuff like that is designed to stop the breeding cycle so could take a while but it will work

OR use Diatomaceous Earth: http://diatomx.co.uk/ You can smother the dogs in the stuff, work it well into their fur all over, and sprinkle it all over the inside of the kennels. Maybe not so good to use it in the house unless you want everything to be covered in white powder LOL

I would beware about putting too much trust in Diatomaceous Earth. It cannot properly control mites in chickens so i would doubt it is much good for dogs....plus it is pricey.

i tried it didnt seem to do anything apart from make the dogs sneeze  i`ll stick to my benzo

Worked on my chooks just fine: and I like the idea of not having to put chemical stuff on them. Did you smother the insides of the hen houses, perches and chickens themselves in it? Everything else I tried seemed not to work very well and I had real problems with red mite for ages before I tried DE. Haven't seen a flea in years either, apart from the odd one which comes in off the rabbits.

Yes Sky, did the works. It is ok to help prevent a build up but even then it is limited. Not just my experience but from pals who also breed chooks.

I now only use it to mix in with the wood shavings for the nest boxes/pens. Use a chemical spray concoction to kill the mites in the houses and frontline for the birds

I've had a similar problem with fleas, I've never had them on my animals before either. After spending over £80 treating the house, dogs and cats I spoke to a vet and got Frontline Combo (it's new and more or less the same price as ordinary Frontline) for the dogs, it kills the eggs as well as the fleas and vet said to treat all my animals every month until the fleas are gone, as the Frontline takes longer to work after a month. So fingers crossed, I'm sick of the bloody things!

this is robert f stroud aka the bird,an of alcatrac take on control of red mites, wash all equipment in a strong hot solution of lye soap, remove and burn all litter, sprey all cracks and anywhere else they might brees with a good commercial spray reinforced by adding 2 ounces of casor oil and 2 ounces of naphthalene to each quart. the best way to demite a chicken house. is to spray with a power sprayer once each week using a mixture of eight parts kerosene one part engine oil and one part crude carbolic acid. well he did spend 54 years in solitary confinement  its a good book though
