bunnybasher69 56
I had seen a few fleas on the dogs so I bathed them all twice in flea shampoo and the next day used frontline on them. A few days later they still had fleas. I bathed them twice more with stronger shampoo, sprayed the entire house and still found a couple more the next day. All in all I've spent around £40 on supplies that aren't working. What can I use to get rid of the fleas without spending too much more?
airbourne 128
just keep at it mate they can be a pain to get rid off, sounds like you have got a infestation get rid of all the dogs bedding, put powder all round the skirting boards and on your furniture, leave it there for a few days then repeat with fresh, has their eggs can lie dormant until condition are right to hatch, or get intouch with the council to see if they have some stronger powders or sprays you can treat your house with, some councils sell it they do round my way. atb
Moll. 1,770
Try not to bathe the dogs, i think the dogs have to have been dry 48hrs prior and after frontlining. Try Stronghold if the frontline is not good enough, i find it much better, but you can only get it from the vets. ETA.....Are you using frontline spray or neck drops?

I was reccomended this by a mate http://cgi.ebay.co.u...atchlink:top:en Has anyone had any experience with it? have found with natural products they don't work mate, personaly i would not waste my money, i use a product called PANOMEC from the vets it is a injectable form for cattle, sheep, pigs for internal paracites, not saying inject your dogs with it just use it has you would frontline on the back off the neck the only thing is the vet might not give it you to use on your dogs, the only way i get it is i use it on racing pigeons for flea and worming control in them, i have used it for years now on my dogs, ferrets, the wifes pet rabbits never had problems with fleas or worms. Also if there were head lice in my daughters school she would get them until she helped me to one spot the pigeons one day she got it on her fingers she never got head lice again all the while she was at school.atb

You said you washed them the day prior, i dont think your supposed to get them wet for 48 or 72hrs prior to using frontline, that is why stronghold is better Edited to add, it would be unlikey to get a problem with fleas out bushing at this time of year. If you are using the neck drops it wont kill the fleas till they actually feed, so the fleas you are seening now may not have had a nibble at the dogs yet. Plus fleas go dormant this time of year, so will be feeding less. Edited December 3, 2011 by Moll.

Yes I have ferrets but they don't have fleas. It could be the pup I got a while back had eggs on it. It had a couple fleas so I bathed it but after reading more about fleas that's probably where they came from. Never had fleas until I got that pup
