Hamish.J.Cronan 13
I'm trying to get my head around the breeding of my dog... If the dam and sire are grey X whip and Saluki x whip and there's six in the litter what would be the outcome? Would it always be that you'd get the following in varying numbers - grey x whip grey x sal whip x whip whip x whip or is it possible that you might not get one (or more than one...) of those combinations but a purebred grey, whip, sal popping out? socks 32,253
your pups would be 1/2 whippet 1/4 saluki 1/4 greyhound the variation in the litter will be in their traits and manerisms as in some will throw more towards the saluki some towards the whippet and some towards the greyhound OR you could have a very even litter accross the board ......... Hamish.J.Cronan 13
thanks Socks, sounds about right he's 23tts, stubborn and likes running! So i'm guessing they could also throw more one way than another though? There was quite a size difference between the pups i believe. When i'm out most people think he's a whippet but then every so often i'll meet someone who has/had saluki's and see's that in him. He's not got the feathering ok a Sal mind, one lady reckoned she could see it in the shape of his eyes... Quote Link to post
