vixen 528
I've had my dh x gh and one of my whippet x bed on Australian formula and my other lurchers on Gain 28, i get my Gain local at not a bad price but the Australian formula is quite expensive in comparison, does anyone know of anywhere near ayrshire who supplies the AF at a reasonable price? i'm paying £20 for a 15kg bag........, not a fortune but ive heard it can be bought cheaper!! Bosun11 537
Aussie formula is good stuff, as bags go, BUT because of its contents, createne & glucomine, really should only be used if you both work your mutts hard enough and feed predominantly bagged food..! In years past I did use it, though 'combined', with good results but I have no need to feed my dogs it now and thats not because they ain't out enough, belive me, they are! Though I still use raw and bag mix for my mutts diet, Australian is simply too much of a 'high wired' food for everyday use. It does work for them 'sprint merchants' I'm reliably informed, but even if you give your dogs two hard nights a week, my logic is that they are shovelling 'hypo grub' for the other five and that ain't what I want in my kennels because my dogs were bouncing off the walls if there was a break..! On the positive side, their puppy formula is really spot on. See for all those negativities, the folk who manufacture the stuff have done their homework on the whole package. As said, Aussie formula really works for those greyhound sprint merchants, dogs that live fast die young, to coin a phrase! So the puppy is no different, well thought out, as bags go, for a puppys growing needs, damn good building stuff. I've been using it and recommending it for a few years, never seen any poor results and if anything, all positive. Just for the record, these are simply my observations based on what I have tried, some folk on here will give the in's an out's of each ingredient, i've got other things to worry about...! Over to you...
FENS FEVER 147
to behonest mate i aint had no probs and theres loads lads i no feed it and havent had any ,,,,but like u said they got to be worked hard when on the food mine get jigged most nites of the week and runned,so there always out,,,,,
John Watkin 0
Creatine can cramp your dogs up!!! The main focus of AF's scientific development is combating cramp, that is how it differs from other greyhound feeds. the choice of carbohydrate ingredients, the addition of glutamine and other electrolytes is to prevent cramp. Here is a link to a 1 page PDF by AF about preventing cramp in greyhounds and there research - http://greyhoundstar.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/08-AUSSIE.pdf
