Millet 4,497
I have a V reg 1999 est model with 80k on the clock..them Hdi engine's are awsome with plenty of pulling power up hill even when loaded to the hilt with tool's and rubbish..i would go with the 50mpg on average..the only thing i dont like about the car is it seem's tinny and flimsy put together..but i can live with that as the engine more than make's up for it..

SON OFF SHAM 34
MAKE SURE the timing belts been changed for the second time !!!! Peugeot diesels can be hit or miss with them miles, steering racks are a common problem so put her threw a few full lock turns if your test driving it to make sure the pumps ok and that theres no power steering fluid leaking out off the rack. Apart from that if she's running ok. Good luck. Atb
claude jeramiah 19
make sure you introduce here to bio diesel
PoshPikey 560
I had one as a work car with all the gadgets in it - i drove it 75 miles a day commute plus another 50 miles a day on average for work and completely killed the car in a year. The electrics kept packing up - apparently between the stalk and the rear indicators are 4 junction boxes - i would indicate left and the radio would come on - the lights turn off etc. At 80k it went into run slow mode when i was tanking down the motorway - 35 mph on the outside lane of the M6 isn't much fun with no power to get out the way. The plastic tray bolted (plastic bolts) to the underside of the car below the engine came loose one day and tore out from under the car - its about 6 feet by 4 feet - it hit a transit van that was following me. i had problems with the brakes and when i chopped it in for a golf i was happy to see the back of it. maybe i got a friday afternoon one? The engine dull in power is called limp mode, it done that so no unnecessary damage was caused to the engine, something simple must have set it off. The engine guard is what fell off also it protects the under side off the engine from corrosion and damage. Like all cars it only takes one bad one off one make or model to put you off for life. PoshPikey 560
I think your right. Another thing that annoyed me was the sticky up rear head rest lever thing - it was always in the field of vision in the rear view mirror.
