A little tribute to me old bitch

The year was 1998 i was in my teens had dogs since i was a nipper and used to tag along with me dad just bits and bobs lamping with his 2 old lurcher bitches and after abit i wanted to have my own dog sure i loved mooch with me dads dogs but theres nothing better than to work your own dog and bring it on on your own i was a keen young land always out with a ferret in my pocket and a small bag full of nets mooching round hedge rowes and basicly anywhere i shouldnt be. The january of this year a good friend of mine knocked the door i knew he had mated his jackrussell dog to this lakeland x bitch he didnt work his dog but he was off a good working dogs and he was a good stamp the bitch was an allround worker not the best looking of dogs but she did the job any way he came to the door with this white and black dog pup lovely looking dog but at the time me dad would only have bitches so therer was no chance, so my mate took me to his mate who had the pups there were 2 black bitches and a brown dog, this bitch that stood out white with half a black face that was the one for me she was alot like her dad so i took her home to me mom and dad and that was it my mom fell in love the next season i was out with her around the september just moochin and bushing really she didnt like interacting with other dogs god knows why but that was her nature,the first time i took her out ferreting it was as if she,d been here before marking the holes standing just in the right spot when the rabbit would hit the net she was quiet and would tip teo round the nets not disturbing any of the nets, she always seemed to work like glue with the ferrets especially when i was out ratting with her she new saw any work in the ground but that was down to me at the time i just wanted a mooching dog and a ferreting dog and in the end she became a really good ferreting partner,she werent a hard dog i never bragged about i just used to love my mornings and nights out with her even now i look back at those days and i really did enjoy them,she was a great guard dog in the house loved my mom she used to spoil her like a kid. I moved from my moms a few years back i moved out of my moms and i couldnt part her from my mom and i thought it would be nice to end her days on the sofa,lastnight on the way to work my dad phoned me to say she had past away i dont normally get upset over dogs i know people think thats hard but its the way i was brought up but when i found out she had died it brought a slight tear to my eye because she was more than that too me she was like an old mate,if this has bored any one sorry but thanks for reading RIP JADE

What a shame !! this bitch was a cracking ratter, spent plenty of time on the river banks ratting with her ! Clever as fcuk aswell & she crept like a ''Thief at night'' around warrens !

Cracking tribute mate honest and real.. Lots of people on here are your out and out dog men, then there's alot of people on here who keep their dogs as pets as much as they are workers.. The bond with a good working dog that builds up after spending many years in the field with deserves a tear or two.. RIP JADE
