this is what i do! here in nz we dont bother doggin anything less. All u need is 1 good dog to find the pig then bite its ass when it trys to run, then bail. greyhound Xs r good for this, my best dog is a lab x grey and my pup is a year old, the size of a whippet and been catching boars wit my older dogs since she was 4 months old. I have a catch dog, we call them holders he's got no teeth left so he's gettin retired. Its not as mean as u think........the guy who reckons his 2 bull xs would do the trick......is right they would b perfect!!

I have hunted with three lads from England who are also on this site, they operate in 3 different counties of England, and do wild boar and feral pig control with the aid of tracking dogs. The dogs are essential, they find the boar and hunt them relentlessly, GPS is used to anticipate the boars movements so a safe shot can be made. If the boar is accidentally brought to bay, it is shot asap. And as far as Im aware as long as they use just 2 hounds, then this is acceptable and has been verified with the authorities in each county.

A bull/Grey is a good boar stopper if you invest the time making up chest plates for them, but in the UK you would be facing conviction breaking the hunting act. Sad state of play really, as the boar suffer little in getting caught, and matters are finished quickly by the handler.
