i tried the new hid blitz next to the normal blitz, only difference was the colour of the light,it was deffo whiter but not anything exciting to make me want to spend the extra cash on one.

Do they still have the delay in getting to full power ? I wasn't impressed with the one I saw, certainly no better than a normal Blitz.

Cheers.

Yes, it was a 170, and as it cost more than a standard 240, I wasn't impressed. The blitz was as good and didn't have the warm up time. I'm not looking for an argument, simply stating my opinion. When cost/performance comes into it, HID simply isn't worth it for lampimg.

Cheers.

the one i saw had the 35watt bulb in,there are bigger bulbs(50 and 75 watt) but they make the lamp even more expensive, its the reflector that gives ya the distance on ya beam so your not getting a longer beam just whiter which is good but worth all the extra cash i'm not sure,as anyone looked into how much these bulbs are cause there not something that pulls in and out like the old ones there a solid fixture,i would expect a replacement to cost a few quid.

I looked into the HID xenon bulbs they range from £40-£60 and as you say HBG the only real difference is the spot-light colour.

the reflections of the eyes are a different colour to a normal halogen bulb ? I find with the LEDs if they are super bright white sspot colour temp the bunnies eyes are white and everything else...Is it same with HID ?

I like to see a red Dot for bunny and as you know other critters of the night all have diff reflections.

Whats a hid? ????

High Intensity Discharge. You can buy them, or have your own lamp converted by fitting a ballast and HID bulb. It costs about the same price as the lamp to convert , so it's fairly expensive, and to tell the truth, they're no better than a normal lamp for price/performance.

Cheers.
