How well does it work with the ortovox collar

Works fine but it's an older (20 year+) analogue system . Okay if your on a very tight budget, but for day in day out digging you should look at another box really

Would the b+f collar with the ortovox d1 be better or would i be better off getting the full b+f collar and locator?

Mammut Barryvox make the b+f collar, so the barryvox box suits the b+f collar best and for me it's the best match for ortovox transmitters too.

D3 and the B&F collar is also a fine tool

if you cant afford the b+f box the d3 is pretty simular and half the price

Just cover the central switch on the D3 with tape, and use the side switch to turn on and off
