johnny boy68 11,726
Of course there are no guarentees, as i said its bout giving yourself a greater chance, if yo were a keen rough shooter, would you buy a gundo from working lines or the nice coupl round the corner with a litter? No need to answer chap as its a retoricle question I think you mean rhetorical Quote Link to post

johnny boy68 11,726
People buy from Hancock as theres a shortage of tried and tested collie/grey pups being bred...........when a litter of collie/greys from working parents are bred they're usually all spoken for before they hit the floor. hullhunter 219
would not say so if the [bANNED TEXT] breed or cross is there so is the potential would say its got alot to do with effort and time and training having 2 great parents does not mean the ofspring will be great There are no guarentees in life but surely if gettng a pup you would get one from parents who have been worked rather than a couple of non workers, its all a gamble but i'd rather shorten the odds in my favour and i dont know anyone who would opt for a pup from non workers.............. You get a well bred pup and then put all the work you can into it, training and rearing is great but the fact is you can't polish a turd... there is loads mate you only have to look in the for sale section on here pups out of pups, pups out of jackers and the list goes on. plus all the people who bye from puppy farms.(hancock) i would say 75% of the pups for sale in this day and age are bred from shit. there is more people in this game now for cash then there is for the love of the sport. rob190364 2,594
The thing is, apart from the people that have a network of friends who are also hunters, most people can only buy pups blindly anyway. When you buy a pup from a stranger you can only take their word from it that the dog is a worker, and even if it definitely is a worker it doesn't mean it's a decent worker. The seller might offer to let you see the parents work, which is fine if you're after just a rabbit dog. But who in their right mind would offer to show a complete stranger their dogs doing anything else??? probably quite a few people would, but it's a hell of a risk to take!! 2 Quote Link to post
