Gaz_1989 9,539
Has anyone got a dog of this breeding? 1st cross collie greyhound X whippet. What sort of size you looking at for a bitch? Just toying with a few ideas for my next pup. Mainly gonna be ferreting and mooching but odd nights on the lamp. Was looking at pure whippets but thinking an extra couple inches and a 1/4 of collie might make it a little bit more versatile as a general all round dog? Thanks Gaz Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Sounds cracking mate and looks the part. How much collie in there roughly? What was she like to bring on? Thanks Gaz Quote Link to post
maitland93 13
1/4 collie 1/4 whippet 1/2 grey easy enough to bring on only she was very head strong she would smash trew bushes etc.. realy good jumper. Could of trained her a bit better but she was my first lurcher so it was inexperiance on my part took her a few times out lamping for her first kill on bunnys but when she cliked she was killing more than she missed, decent day time long ear dof aswell plenty staying power and impressice wind on her. Very accident prone as she only had one speed and that was flat out however she liked bushing also Quote Link to post
whin 463
saw several dogs bred that way not exactly like you asked but line bred lurcher to lurcher very good dogs and a start to get decent allround lurchers Quote Link to post

Ossie n Arch 1,682
Tess. Collie/Grey x Whipp/Grey. Good recall and retrieve, but sometimes she's a bit measured in what she'll run. But she's good enough for me. 1 Quote Link to post
pernod 466
Hi mate, Heres a picture of my collie/grey X working whippet. He's 24tts and 14mths old in the picture. He is definately the smartest but most headstrong dog i have ever encountered. Everything with him is a battle of wills, he is slowly learning that there can only be on one winner.(and it definately wont be him) Cheers Pernod 1 Quote Link to post
