Irish Lurcher 1,013
I kid you not, we were mugged tonight while lamping. Fella I used to do a bit with years ago put me onto some new land and with the cloud cover and no moon we decided to give it a lash tonight. First field was massive, copped a few bunnies down to our right and sent sash on her way, bunny number one in the bag; we covered some ground with bunnies in most of the fields that we entered. Poor Richie was the bunny carrier for the night, and he must have had a pain in his bollix with the amount he had to carry, ya see he left the bunny bag back in the van, not a clever thing to do when you are trying to hold a dog and carry fifteen bunnies. Anyhow we were in sight of the van when Mr Farmer drove into the filed to see what we were up too, big f****r of a man stood in front of me. After a short chat and the name dropping that kept the f****d calm he decided that a fair exchange for us hunting on his land would be a share in the catch, we parted with 9 of the bunnies and he was over the moon, so much so he told me of other land that he has and we made a quick call into the land on the way home and it had a good few bunnies on it, so it paid to be nice to the farmer. A great night was had by all but it still feels like we were mugged by the farmer. Edited November 28, 2011 by Irish Lurcher 1 Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,037
9 rabbits for more permisson.......... Easy decision.well done mate Exactly...its would of been worth giving him all the rabbits,, if it means getting good permision, and stoping him getting the law,, instead of being pessamstic about it, be optamistic,, the glass is half full , rather than half empty. now you got the foot in the door, do right by him, and get it in wrighting,, that way you have a reason to be out if stoped by plod again 1 Quote Link to post

Extremetaz 15
It's a good outcome but not the best lead up to it. If I've read it right, you were on the land without his permission? Or without having contacted him in the first place. Glad it all worked out for you but if either of the the above is the case, then you're damn lucky. Could have easily gone a lot worse, not just for you, but also for anybody who did approach the lad in the future. Not exactly doing anything for the reputation of folk who engage in the sport by carrying on like that. If I've picked that up wrong, then I apologise - but the last thing that's needed is more anti's on account of fella's simply failing to extend a bit of common courtesy.
