B.P.R 2,798
its been an eventfull weekend for me, lamping last night in the p!ssing rain, ferreting friday and yesterday i went with a mate and a few other to their ground for a walk up with the guns. took my lab x along with me just to give her a walk more than anything. had her in the cover and she put up a couple of pheasants with one of them being shot. she didnt see it drop as she was still busy in the bushes so i walked up to it and showed her where it was. she must of thought 'ahh right, im meant to look for this and not the stupid fcukin sticks, gotcha'! she picked the bird up and brought it the couple of metres to me, happy so far. then one of the other guys dogs put up another pheasant and that was shot, cutting a long story short here guys. the bird dropped and my bitch was on to it, it was flapping about and im stood there thinking she wouldnt touch it, she picked the bird up still flapping about and im praying that she brings it back to me. no problems, straight back to me and in my hand. happy with how it went, there was other birds she didnt get onto but on the whole i was happy with her first day doing a little bit with other people/dogs. ive had her pigeon shooting and she done well at that but im chuffed she didnt act up and didnt show me up. not really trained her at all, shes doing all this by instinct, shes only a pet but its good to know that shes got a little bit more to offer. thanks for reading heres a couple of pics, took them in the first 10 minutes and right at the end just before heading home. my hand were on the gun the rest of the time freezing! and one more pic of her jumping in the river to clean off. Rhodey 96
Its good to see you working together and both enjoying it. Only thing I would say is remove the collar when working the dog you don't want it hanging itself. Quote Link to post
