lamping rabbits your opinion

Recommended Posts

depends on the rabbits and were you are running them. round my way everywere is lamped to death you have to slip your dogs on rabbits at 200 yards that have started running full pelt soon as the lamp is but on. if your dog can get up to it before it hits the hedge its done well never mind putting a bend into it or even catching it.

think the hare might be the ultimate athlete not the rabbit i would say substandard dogs can do rabbit day time too

Totally different sports, no comparrison.

Can a hare dog take 40 hares in one day, NO. Can a rabbiting dog run each rabbit for 2 mins, NO.

saw a good few dogs over the years take a [bANNED TEXT] bagfull of rabbs on lamp ,do a few hares in morning then next day a few roe then next day a bolted fox when it was all legal, there about but not to common nowadays with all the daft specalist dogs the way i look at sport whatever you take the least of and takes a bit of effort well is probaly the hardest caut, rabbits to me are the least effort , as you can catch more, hares strong roe and clever foxes well you need a better dog ,and abit more choosy how to bred the said animal
