Sorry as i carn accsess the 'snares and trap designs page' i will post it on here!

These traps are commonly used by keepers to round of suplus birds at the end of the season for breeding! It

Build a pyramid of sticks nailed together and balcanced over the bait. There needs to be a strong bit of elasticy wood tipe stuff inorder for the phesant to step on when it tries to reach the feed, Which will cuase the pyramid to fall trapping the phesant alive to be put into laying pens for breeding! I have built and set one so far but am building more, Will try and post pictures soon!

Sounds a bit of a ball ache compared to a good sized wire cage with a door for emptying it and a funnel for letting the dumb birds walk into it when you have thrown some corn in. I had about 30 in one once.

Or if you cant be bothered to do the building of a trap like this then just soak some rasins in alcohol in an area you know the phesants will be and then return to pic up the drunken birds! Never tried it but its an ole paochers trick and a few keepers i know have used this method before. But i will get some pictures up of the trap up soon!

Little Loyd where did you get that pic for your avatar?? Looks like Stef's from Maryland. She's a good fox trapper.

Very old school this method .Only caught the one or two at most .Time consuming to make and sometimes killed the bird by landing on its neck [experience ].Superceeded by the mesh catchers with funnel entrances .Memories all the same .Cheers .
