p3d 879
How do you lads insulate kennels, i have 3 breeze block kennels, and thinking about knocking three into one and insulateing them. its freezing in winter even with good bedding and raised beds. i need it doing before i buy another pup Just my tuppence worth, but I would not insulate the breeze block kennel. Knock the three of them into one and place insulated dog houses in them. Insulating the whole of the enlarged kennel will not help the dogs. Their body heat would not be enough to raise the temperature. But the smaller dog houses would be dry and warmed by the dog himself. The pup will bunk in with one of the dogs if you are lucky Best of luck whichever method you use. 2 Quote Link to post

You can insulate outside, then put a wire screed on top then plaster or roughcast,P.M, scothunter he's in the insulation game.Half of Glasgow has been done by this method Lately..Kept the Poles going for two year Quote Link to post
sull85 36
cheaper way would be to line the walls with plastic membrane stud it out and put cavity wall insulation or kingspan between the studthen board over with something, that would stop damp coming through.if going for boxes maybee even get them off the ground so not as cold. Mrquinn 106
Why don't you use heat lamps with open top bed boxes Quote Link to post
Mrquinn 106
Them dog boxes look top notch Quote Link to post
Mrquinn 106
no outside dog box shuld be on the floor anyway they shuld always be raised and the entrance facing the back wall or side never straight forwards only what I been taught but sounds correct to me Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Should be easy enough to copy them kennel designs and make some yourself for a lot cheaper. £300 is extortionate... 2 Quote Link to post
Mrquinn 106
300 quids steep as nice looking as it is But you culd make double skinned insulated one with legs for a tun and that's going bnq for your stuff and buying a drill Quote Link to post
j1985 1,984
I got a bog standard wooden dog cabin, polystyrene for insulation then over the top of that with plastic sheets meant for shower rooms..it's spot on and easy to clean. Quote Link to post
