Guest thebigdog
Put the collar on the owner....i would never have one on a lurcher so you would rarther give a dog away or pts after all that hard work you must be crazy mate why not use a collar if it gets the result after everything else fails times are changing mate move with them not against times might be changing but how to train a dog is still the same, shock collars create a nervousness in a dog regardless how you use it or how strong headed you dog is. its electrocuting the dog ffs. johnny boy68 11,726
They are banned in our country(Wales) I've never had cause to use one or hopefully ever will...........seen a lad use one before on his lurcher all it succeded in doing was to make it rag the sheep with more tenacity. IF and its a big IF he used it properly the dog wouldn't have even been in a position to rag the sheep but then as I said plenty of twats get them and don't use them correctly. As I said I've never needed one on a lurcher maybe that's just me! Quote Link to post

the big chief 3,099
what i used it for on mine was i did all the training every thing spot on 1st nite lamping spot on 2nd 3rd and on the 4th time out started to hunt up tride everything i new to get him back i would take an average of 40 minits to an hour to get him back by that time nothing left to hunt so it was get rid or pts so i gave the collar ago worked a treet allways on low Quote Link to post
hogdog 61
There's alot of ignorance about them and alot of assumptions made. I agree that in the wrong hands they are an instrument of torture but in the right hands, on the right dog, in the right circumstances they are the best tool you can own. Quote Link to post
oldred58 340
A LAZY MANS TOOL, OR JUST A TOY, A DOG SHOULD DO HIS WORK BECOUSE HE INJOYS IT, NOT FORCED TO, THROUGH PUNISHMENT (TORTURE) Quote Link to post
