littlefish 587
Look on the section about gardening and livestock on here - there is a section on aviary birds etc. Good luck - what sort of birds are you hoping to keep? I'd love an aviary for budgies but I don't think the neighbours would enjoy the early starts in the summer months - noisy little brats!
hullhunter 219
thanks not sure what im going to keep yet.
littlefish 587
The section is called 'living off the land and game cooking'. What sort of pond are you planning? I have a pond with fish in - it's great for attracting insects and therefore birds throughout the year.

littlefish 587
Good luck with your pond. Look into joining your local BKKS branch - you will learn loads and see the things to avoid before you lift a spade/hire a mini digger to start .
craigyboy 1,274
i cant put pics up anymore for some reason mate,it wont let me all i will say is make the aviary as big as you possibly can, because i guarantee once you get into birds you'l want to extend it every year,i have 3,theyre about 16 ft long by 6 ft wide with a felted roof,3 sides mesh and 1 a solid wall,if i was you i'd invest in micro mesh instead of the standard aviary mesh as mice cant get through it,the standard mesh they can walk through hand in hand,i keep british mate, mainly goldies but also redpolls, yellowhammers and siskins if you need to know owt just ask,il help if i can
