CATCHING OFF THE LAMP ???

just wondering have many of u had or seen dogs that caught rabbits off the lamp my 17 mth old dog has done it 4 times now the latest tonight went out 4 a quick shine on this rabbit i slipped em turned em once rabbit went straight to a ditch through it into next field the dog burst through after em cud see nothing ran 30 yards to a gap in the ditch scanned the field to the right cud see nothin then i heard the squeal turned up lamp and here was the dog bout 200 yards away down the field trotting back to me with his catch delighted wit himself i was well proud of him just wondered have many of u seen this often thanks atb :thumbs: :thumbs:

seen and had it a few times bud especially if there is a moon etc, but ive seen me dog also go out the beam and then use his nose and managed to catch game well out of site, is a good feeling but can also be risky at times too,

I had it last weekend. where there was a brow in the field that I hadn't seen an he came back with one. I had one earlier on in the season where a bunny had run into a load of marshy grass. I thought it'd gone through so I called the dog and he started (what looked like) hunting up so I turned the lamp off to go and pull him away and as I was on my way I heard the squeelin. One of those moments when you can't help but smile but I don't like me or them not bein able to see where their goin

Had it happen a few times over the years you think the dogs beside you then you hear a squeal put the lamp on and he has a rabbit or sometimes other things

Happens alot if its a bright night ,not a great idea though one day they wont see something while there chaseing and atrip to the vet then

Turned lamp of as dog reached gate at end of field, dog jumped gate landed on road, ran 50yds down road and made the catch, pads and stoppers cut up, id rather she dident to be honest.
