Guest vin
well all have our ways of bring'n pups up regards food+ exercise, and i( was) prob like alot on here that held pups back with exercise, till about 8-12 months old. But ive seen these dogs ( malamute x) run, and there drive+stamina is somthing else (BRILL) .and same with this pup, the dogs all have been took out very young from 8 weeks old. If this is what you( get) by doing this that way, well if i get another pup its what i will do next time. You would have a shock to see how the pups really come on this way.!! . The people who have this x have been in the dog game a long while as my self, they know what there doing carefull Bird... you might get accused of being in some sort of fan club ! LOL As you know matey..seeing is believing..theres them that do ...and theres plenty on here that think they do. Im 44 and still no nothing..My eyes are opened constantly at how other people aproach this game. Some live and breath it as part of their actual existance, but others just like to play at it . im not pro or full timer..but when i get my next pup im going to be doing a lot of things different to how ive always been taught and led to believe.. And as for oneshot's dog... its up to him what he does and how he sees fit to bring the dog on...If he fails and makes a mess of it..i'm sure there will be plenty of people telling him where he went wrong... good luck fella..but take it easy..pick it up and give it a rest every now and then. Ideation 8,216
We took an 11 week old pup out ferreting all day sunday. She loved it. Taking a jabbed up pup out for a bit of ferreting sounds like a good idea , walking a nine week old puppy for miles a day sounds like you need a good kick in the bollocks. Agreed, the walking part is f*****g stupid, but i don't see too much problem taking a very young pup out at night just to experiance it all. ideation most folks would say that your stupid taking a 11 week old pup ferreting all day , so when you talk of of others methods please chose you words more carefully ,remember were both in the same boat atb oneshot To be fair sunshine, the pup sat on a box most of the time, had a little mooch about, but in general used it's eyes a lot more than it's legs. Hence, i don't see a problem with it watching runs on the lamp at nine weeks old and having an experiance of the great outdoors at night. If you genuinly walk the dog miles, as in actual miles, rather than in your head miles, then 9 weeks is probably far too young for serious exercise. If however what you mean is that you take it out for a couple of hours and have a wee mooch about and a bit of a wander, with lots of stops and a bit of carrying etc. Then i'm sure no harm will be done. It not having it's jabs however is a bit dim. Quote Link to post

oneshot1986 72
your asking for proof of damage etc, but most people have the common knowledge not to walk such a youngster so far, and like i said earlier, i gave you the answer to what it does, but your still digging for arguments etc you'll end up walking the weight off him too..pups need to be fed up and keep the weight on untill its fully matured (depending on breeding). put a pic up of your pup? never seen a malamute cross 1 Quote Link to post
