cathunter 8 Posted November 23, 2011 Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 hi all, my does had 6 kits 4 days ago and has been off her food since, she's only eaten a day's worth since she had them, i've tried lac free milk, hand raising formular to get her going, she perks up a little every now and again but then just goes back to feeding kits. heer skin on back of her neck stays where i pull it to so i'm shaw she's dehydrated but cracks it with me when i put the bottle in her mouth. any ideas? The one 8,524 Posted November 23, 2011 Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 Do you think you would be eating normally four days after you shelled out a litter ?. as long as shes drinking plenty fluids she should be fine ,And if shes a first time mother? she might be over protective and no leaving them to feed just yet . If she's not even drinking then there's something seriously wrong. Knock on the head or vet job depending on how much you value the ferret, not to mention the fact that you'd be unlikely to be able to hand rear the kits without specialist help. cathunter 8 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 the kits are in a mod incubator (plant propgator) and the jill (doe) is starting to perk up a bit. i'll hand feed the kits over night and keep checking on the jill (doe) every half hour. thanks for the advice Quote Link to post
