tote 854
Good luck Swamper I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. Don't know how good your vet is,but it would be worth taking the dog to a specialist greyhound vet, they deal with similair injuries on a regular basis. Quote Link to post
swamper 11
cheers people...like i say im going to have a word with the specialist tommorow and see if hes the real deal Quote Link to post
swamper 11
just had a phone call off the vets and it looks like we are looking at a series of fractures just above the foot and it is also gratteing so this could mean that it is dislocated aswell.....but it looks like the joint is still intact...so i surpose thats some good news....got to wait till thursday for the swelling to go down before xray again and decide what course to take Quote Link to post

swamper 11
its bad news im afraid shes home at the moment as i picked her up last night but its like this...the only thing holding her foot on is the skin the bottom of the hock is compleatly severed all tendens have snaped the hock its self is very unstable and fractured also the top of it is dislocated......so its a very serious injury so here goes....shes going in on moday (as its the only day hes avalable) to be operated on by a specialist he needs to peform 3 ops in 1 1st he needs to fuse the joints together 2nd he neads to put in a rod down the bone so that it becomes stable 3rd going to reatach her tendans with wires so as you can guess her runnings day are over...the only thing i can do now is keep her comfy till monday and then take it from there...but its not good....gutted can i just add...to all the people that have pm'd me with help and surport ...thankyou Quote Link to post
