billhardy 2,342
I thought I would finally add some more pics of Jess now she is a little more mature-ish. She is coming up for 9 months and as from my recent post it has been tough, she really seems to have turned the corner and is responding to all the work put in. Her Dam is a Dave Platts bitch and Sire is a working whip, she is finally showing some prey drive and has started to take an interest in the local wildlife. She is also slowly changing from a smooth black to wiry greyish in parts. http://s821.photobuc.../zz132/redpat1/ Let me know your thoughts Thanks Pat shes a belter good luck with her atb bunnys. sowhat 1,572
Got talking to man from Cumbria while we was on holiday at north berwick, who had one of Mr Platts greyhound x deerhounds, what a big beautiful bitch it was, infact we was chatting away on the sand dunes next to a wooded area, when one of my grews shoved a basil brush out and the deerhound x swept it up with ease and the owner was overjoyed for her first big kill Quote Link to post
redpat1 225
Thats a great story sowhat, I hope my girl will tackle teeth in due course as her dam does. At some point I will get another dog and one of Daves big crosses would be ideal, either that or a nice bull cross from solid lines Pat Quote Link to post

redpat1 225
Fair enough mate, I have a bushing springer who thinks she is a whirrer! I want to get my own crew together as I mentioned, a couple of well bred patts and a bigger running dog. Everything was heading in the right direction until the wife and I discovered we were having another child! That was a shock I can tell you. Things will have to be put on hold for a little while.LOL Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
you dont need the bigger dogs [bulls] daves dogs will cater for all ya needs mate this is why i use theas types they are fast turn like f**k take things with ease and syle and more than cappible of any job you lob at them so when the little one is older then thers a new member ther for ya Quote Link to post
redpat1 225
I was told that when Deer x's mature they are evry bit as willing and able as a bull X but its good to have it confirmed from someone with some first hand knowledge. I definately think Daves dogs are pleasing to the eye as well. I often wonder if the bulls are just flavour of the month. Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
i think they are thats just my opinion dont get me wrong bulls are a very cappable dog butt i dont think they are as fast and agile as awell bread dh x my mate has 2 very good bulls the best in the village to be honest theas are 1/2 x and very quick for 1/2 x bulls butt they are not a patch on mine for speed turning but in the courage they are Quote Link to post
