Hiya, I thought that I would pop in and say hi before posting on the site. I was sent the link from a member of another forum I talk on (thank you) and thought, why not, I will join this one too. I have had a look about and you seam a friendly bunch :thumbs-up:

I have kept ferrets for a long time but only just got into ferreting this year with my other half. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much I do. There is nothing better that having an excuse to be sat out in the countryside... and putting food on the table is a real thrill to know where your meal has been and seen it to the table.

I have already seen some amazing things whilst out ferreting, I've watched a Kestrel take a bird out of the sky and sit eating it not 20 foot away from me, we've had weasels popping in and out of our nets. I have watch hares racing across the field next to me, five strong!!

I hope to see many more wonderful sites. The only thing I am finding hard to deal with is the reaction I get when my other half talks to people about us ferreting and their reaction towards me when I own up to 'pulling my weight' in the field. I get the impression that this is not a womans world some times with the things they say and would love to speak to other women ferreters. Not that they would put me off this wonderful new hobby as I have also seen the down side of the damage the rabbits do and hold no guilt myself, but as said, it would be nice to speak and get to know other female ferreters.

With that said, again hello and I look forward to getting to know some of you.

;)

Id like to watch those 5 hares playing in the field, can you tell me where they are  ;)

Cheers bob

I bet you would  But I have to say I'm not telling this time. You have to have some thing to watch while the rabbits arnt bolting and the other half is at the other side of the thorny bush!
