RAZOR WIRE

Recommended Posts

Took my dogs for a mooch on some permission today, it borders a garden centre. Along a hedgside for about 30 yards from ground level to about 4ft in height the garden centre owner had strung razor wire. Do any of you guys know the legality of using this in such a situation. cheers.

Not 100% sure but i thought it had to be above 6ft..........?.. :hmm: On the other habd i just read this........

The law is not clear on this, and it can be difficult to get definitive advice. Most of my inquiries led me to the Home Office, but a spokesman told me he was unable to help. The Association of Chief Police Officers advises against the use of barbed wire, razor wire, wall spikes or broken glass on the grounds that building owners have a duty of care to ensure that visitors to the property are reasonably safe. .... :icon_eek:

There's a guy or two on here who will go along and rip it all down with their bare hands and stuff it up the land owners arse, if you tell them where it is......... and then come on here bragging about it !! LOL !! :D:whistling:

Cheers.

If you use barbed or razor wire, under the Occupiers

Liability Act 1984 you must take reasonable precautions

to prevent injury to other people, including trespassers,

caused by dangers on your property. If you are building a wall

on the boundary with your neighbour, you may need your

neighbour’s permission (under the Party Wall Act 1996).

If you live somewhere, such as an estate, where there

are building restrictions in force, you may need to get

special permission.
