TGEvans 4
Have been reading some American gun blogs and read about wilderness or survival guns. Most of them seemed to be .22lr on the top barrell and a .410 underneath. I think they sound great! Has anybody on here ever used one? Any info would be great as I think one of these could be quite handy! Thanks, Tim. Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,102
Yes a while ago I had a 410 22rf comdination american made good little gun,but for some reason I didnt seem to use it enough,it had open sights, and was reasonably acurate, but it just seamed to sit in the cabinet so I traded it in,york guns seem to do them every now and then in different calibers great little summer keepers gun, mine was old with the threpenny bit barrel, hammer gun, wish I had kept it it would have looked good on wall, cant remember the maker Quote Link to post
paulus 26
cz do them, they do a folding survival gun it comes 22lr and 410 or 22 hornet and 20g i think its called a scout, the europeans made lot of drillings a combination of side by side 12g and a rifle barrel underneath normally 303 cal. on the older models. SportingShooter 0
Often wondered whether it would be worth having a combination or drilling gun in the cabinet. I saw a lovely one recently, a double 16 on top with a .222 on the bottom. Was quite tempted... Quote Link to post

Was quite tempted... must admit ive been tempted as of late i think a double 20 with a 22 hornet underneath would be a cracking combination, should think the liecence side of it would be confusing and what a nightmare it would be without an open ticket for the rifle???? It would be a little tricky without an Open ticket but then if you were thinking of using the rifle, it would only be on land you already have permission. How long have you had your FAC? A 20 and .22Hornet would be a nice light combination. Food for thought Quote Link to post

Food for thought donkeys years i have an open ticket for all the calibres on my ticket i was more wondering how it would work without one, could you still say use the shotgun at a clay club? jackinbox99 41
donkeys years i have an open ticket for all the calibres on my ticket i was more wondering how it would work without one, could you still say use the shotgun at a clay club? I saw one of these at a gun show a couple of years back and remember thinking how useful such a gun would be. You could use the shotgun for bolting rabbits, birds and things like that, and the rifle barrel for long distance rabbits etc... But at the time, i wasnt sure how the licensing side of things would work. I guess the whole gun would be classed as an FAC shotgun/rifle and as such unless it was on an open ticket you`d have to have each location you wanted to use it approved. Quote Link to post
Extremetaz 15
A lad near me has one. .22LR above 410. Gorgeous little piece. He uses it for magpies in his back yard. Edited November 21, 2011 by Extremetaz Quote Link to post
