went out to do some pestcontrol , saw several big ears but thtas another story , we went into first hedge botom a fence betwen a fence about 4 metre between fence to fence netted up about 25 yards , and dogs they take a side each i was in middle of fence covering netts , so we put two dog ferrets an oldie and a second season dog ferret ,ten minutes pass then action first rabb back netts hiself dog pegs it , then another further along hedge side , then quite , bang another at the other end young minni grabs it ,we move the ferrets to other end of warren , several more bolt we end up with eight and one left for another day , great sport , we move on to another bit on fence line ,we put dog ferrets in bang two out no nets dog gets one other makes it to cover , i let them cool to gut them and move on , an open burrie no nets as i have caut what i needed for a freind as her poor dog can only eat rabbs at moment under vets examinaition , she had been going to butcher he charged a fiver a rabbit skinned ,so i made a deal with her and hubby ,any way back to the job in hand put a young bitch in with her father they run around rabbits not wanting to bolt so i sit back hiss dogs in and see what hapens a further ten minutes get the old clicker box going ,a measly 2 feet but all stones from feild ,so more of a pick the stones, away,we get under the roots of an old hawthorn bush there two rabbs stuck tite i grab one and send lurcher bitch in she grabs him out , an end to a good day a great day for photos or vid tex book stuff , dont get many days like that on rough made up ground but a good day all the best guys

just sounds a very child like thing to do whin, my dogs will snatch bunnys that have stopped just inside a hole if no nets are there or in holes blocked up by falling leaves or branches or snow but to dig down get the 1st bunny yourself an then let the dog grab 2nd when you could have easily grabbed it yourself sounds a bit amatuerish lol

i am failing to see what good that would do  not a dig just an opinion from somebody who does a fair bit a ferreting with dogs :victory:

pup hasnt seen fur in a hole yet so she is learning her trade as sometimes rabbs are 6 inches in or more and dog grabs them in some places not the normal thing i do but want to teach pup ,rabbs are not always on top at times sometimes we get them inbetween tree roots logs etc , so she learns as most of my dogs work is at nite and early morning ,been fereting several times in past dogs have dived into a pile of leaves out pops a rabbit when we are bolting in open trees ,good to let her feell the fur and lets her no that there more to rabbits than cacthing them on easy bolters or sometimes difficult areas , once she is up say 8 9 months sheel only get the odd day as other games to play lol
