just picked up a new pup yesterday. the lad i got him off said he had wormed him 2 days before but when he showed me the bottle it was that Dr Johnson stuff you can get anywere. as far as im concerned its rubbish.

so i have a bottle of liquid panacur but wondering how long is should wait before i give him it. i dont want to upset his system if there's still some of the other rubbish in him.

i was thinking of giving him till next weekend to give him plenty of time and be sure. ide like to get him done asap as if thats all the lad has been using the pup may never have been wormed properly.

Better still, give a Drontal Plus tablet: less messy and easier to give than liquid. You can give Drontal to pups with no problem. I have found in the past that if a pup is very wormy indeed, even a 3 day course of Panacur might not clear all the worms: I know this from experience when I've rescued very wormy pups. Gave them Panacur for 3 days, still not happy with their condition, so dosed them with a Drontal (make sure you use the right amount for the pups' weight) and had loads more worms come out. Just my experience.
