I was out lamping last night and the dog cut the top of his leg, which i have stapled. But his leg and foot is swollen from the wrist down. I did remove a thorn from his foot but seems to have a sore toe. anybody know of any pain killers and something to take the swelling down. before i go to the money grabbing vet. cheers Chris.

The moment you staple a wound you risk sealing in any potential infection: that is why vets always prescribe antibiotics when they suture or staple a wound. It is almost impossible to get a wound 100% sterile: stapling it up virtually guarantees infection. You need a course or long acting jab of antibiotics.............now!
