FERRETBOY 680
haven't been out lamping since bramble cut her toe a few weeks ago. it has healed well so we decided to go out lamping.we wanted to go in the week but there was alot of mist and no wind so instead my dad decided to fix his old lamp putting a new switch and handle on it. tonight seemed ok so the lazorlite was left at home and out came the old home made lamp.the first two runs ended in nothing with the rabbits just running through the hedges at full speed but we spotted a squatter and got in between it and the hedge cutting of its run,the old lamp seemed to be keeping the rabbit seated ,bramble was slipped and the rabbit made its way towards us big mistake and a easy catch was made by bram.next run was on a small area of grass next to a car park but the rabbit ran straight onto the tarmac with bram skidding behind it then back onto the grass and the rabbit made its ecsape.the next run was next to an industrial estate i stayed in the car and dad ,bram and super lamp lol went onto the field.the grass was pretty thick i could see my dad had spotted a rabbit and he let bram go ,this rabbit had a good turn of speed but amazingly so did bram, she struck well but managed to drop the rabbit but struck again and held on this time, number two in the bag.we headed of home and noticed a rabbit on the grass verge with mixy hear was brambles chance of taking a squatter.we pulled over and me and dad got out,i got bram by her collar walked towards the rabbit and when i was about a meter away i just let her go and she grabbed it with out it knowing.it screamed like mad ,noisy fecker lol number three in the bag.two more good runs were to be had on the way home including a big rabbit but by this time bramble was getting tired.with these few weeks out of action she has lost alot of fitness but she will be back in shape in no time.i think well have to use the old lamp more often and i must admit that old lamp was quite good i was impressed.the rabbits were skinned and gutted, one was fed to bram, the mixy one didnt get skinned just thrown into the ferrets and the last one was put into the freezer.the dogs feet were washed in warm salt water and she was bedded down for the night.here a few pics of the night and now its time for bed.cant believe the time. good hunting rew Quote Link to post
