tonights wee trip out

went to my mates farm tonight for a spot of lamping in the first feild we slipd the dog on 2 and caught 1 then at the next bit there was that many rabbits n the lamp at one time the dog got confused and didnt know what one to chase then we headed down to the next feild and only saw 2 so slipd te dog on a bunnie about 100 yardsaway he coursed it and caught it then wouldnt retreive it to me so i need to work on hes recall and retreving then we went to the next bit slipd the dog and missd one under the gate then in to the next feild and slipd both dogs and they caught the rabbit then next rabbit we came to e slipdthe dog and he caught it and went tumbeling over hes head and lost grip of the rabbit and it got away will put pics up tomorrow

because only one dog was of then the rabbit was heading straght back on us to the gate so slipd the other dog but the rest of the slips were single slips

 

I'm no expert, but slipping a dog head on at a chase is a good way to end up with a collision and a dead mutt.

i have seen it happen,it's bad enough slipping 2 dogs on a rabbit but it is a mortal sin to slip 1 while 1 is already running and even worse if it is running straight towards you'just keep it in mind lads no rabbit is worth killing a dog or maybe 2 over
