dogs pissing in there box. help..

ive got 4 lurchers 2 dogs and 2 bitches. one of my dogs and one of my bitches are pissing in there boxes. has anyone else had dogs do this and how did you stop them.

i found if you give them to much sleeping space they piss try makeing it a bit smaller they will soon stop no one likes sleeping on piss i hope all the pissing about will stop atb

same too much space make there box smaller its common if there box is too big

put a roof on their bed so they cannot stand up to piss, then they got to get out of bed to do it .

Put a roof on the run so they don't have to go out in the rain to pee. And put a bit of straw or shavings in the run too: dogs prefer to pee on an absorbent surface. Make sure the bedding isn't straw or shavings: pee runs to the bottom of straw etc so they don't actually feel that wet it they lie in it. Use old blankets or vetbed instead.

thanks all. my bitch is 26" and my dog is 27" there bed is 1m x 1m x 1m and they are on straw. there is also a roof over the full kennel. so do you think i should make the boxes even smaller?

no they can stand in the box. but they have to jump in and out.

well mate my dog is 26 tts and i made his box tiny i mean he just fit in it and

he still pissed in it so i put shavings in on the floor and he stopped

and i have also made the box bigger again and all is good he not piss

in bed anymore

i have tryed both they just rip it to bits and pull it out into the run the same day i put it in. straw is the only thing they dont pull out of the kennal

no they dont have to crawl in and out but beleive me if you put a roof over their bed so they cannot stand fully in it, then it will stop them doing it . lots of top greyhound trainers use this method and it does work .my son in law has one at the moment and its stopped his doing it also worked in the past for me .

lot of mine do it tryed every thing still do it there just filthy basterds put shavings in clean it out evry week nothing ive tryed works they must like laying in piss
