ROE HUNTING IN ENGLAND

Recommended Posts

Good evening,

I'm from Italy and i want to come over in England, the next April, to hunt ROES with the bolt action gun.

I don't know about laws and hunting terms, what i must to do to hunt? I know that buck's hunting is allowed from 1st April untill 31 October.

Please, can someone help me about that?

Thanks, ciao Nino.

Its a shame mate, sure somebody could've helped you out. Try contacting the British Deer Society and/or BASC with regards to the legalities of transporting guns etc. Which area are you planning to visit, you should be able to search google for a paid stalk. There are a few on here that do it, not sure why you never got any replies.

Good luck with it, if i could help you out i would.

Find yourself a reputable stalker selling commercial stalking opportunities or book thru one of the many sporting agencies. They will have a number of stalkers and estates in their portfolio which will allow you to choose precisely the kind of stalking that you wish. There are many advertised in the British shooting press, or do an online search, you'll find dozens with excellent informative web sites.

If bringing your own firearm you will need to complete the appropriate paperwork prior to your visit or you can opt to simply use the provided "estate rifle", which allows you to shoot and travel without the need for additional paperwork and hassle at the airports etc.

I wouldn't call one tapeworm and its associated cronies an infestation. :hmm:

There are many many reputable suppliers of stalking opportunities in the boony land of the haggis. Withl excellent reputations for honesty. fair dealings and professional integrity. They also produce some absolute cracking examples of gold medal winning roe bucks. Especially those with stalking in the kingdom of Fife.

There is indeed and areas such as Fife do produce some amazing heads, That is if your a head collector but as well you are aware Deer Management does not rely on head collecting but of a sustained wildlife management program that also encompasses the female of the species which is were more effort should be directed in maintaining a balance were a lot of deer control managers are either unaware or do not wish to know. Shame really!

Also in my view stalkers should be further educated in the importance of environment management and control not just deer . By doing so they will be in a position to control deer numbers more proficiently an action that I and others are trying to promote.

As a visiting stalker as Nino would be. Whilst I'm sure he would be keen to know that he was participating in a well structured deer management programme based upon all of the most highly respected principles. I suspect the fact of the matter to be the importance of environment management and control and your desire to promote it to be of a secondary consideration after the quality of the head. if that is not the case I am sure Nino will put the matter straight.
