Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks Deano, My mate has had the really evil one off me as he doesnt work at the moment and can spend all day with it, he says its coming good already. Ive just offered the better of the 2 for rehoming in the free rehoming section if someone has got plenty of times on their hands to sort her out. I think she needs a good few hours a day, just short sessions and she will probably come round. At the moment i spend half hour in morning and an hour at night sorting my ferrets out but it isnt enough for her i dont think. Thanks Gaz Quote Link to post
The one 8,477
Getting them out and working them hard seems to take the fire out them its just being brave enough to pull out a dead rabbit till you know where they are in a burrow Quote Link to post
mike cunningham 8
open there mouths and put your finger in there leave it in there for as long as possible making sure that they cannot move there bottom jaw now every time they go to nip just keep repeating the process they soon latch onto this and i garantee they will stop nipping atb mike. mike cunningham 8
ive done this with all adult ferrets that have nipped and it stops them in an instant ive had ferrets since i was 10 and now iam 41 if anyone is the north west of england and have nasty adult ferrets i would be more than willing to prove this. mike barclay 0
i had two jills a year old which had never been handled. they used two latch on the only way i stopped them biting was when they bit i would put them in the ferret carry box for five minutes no longer because they forget why they are being punnished they soon learn that biting gets them nowhere. nose flicking or nipping only works with kits. Tug 168
It's always worth sticking to it mate, even if you have to concentrate on the bitey one rather than your others whilst it's sorted. Quote Link to post
