I find that crates can help with dogs displaying the problem, a few more details, how long is she left, is she exercised/fed prior to being left, how long have you had her etc etc........... No she's not crated and she is left in the house with my other dogs, she exercied 2hours somes 3 per days. She is given a pedigree jumbone before we leave the house. So its an ongoing problem, some of the things i would suggest you are doing, exercise/something to chew on, and the dog even has company. Its a problem thats baffling at times, i have a lurcher, had him since 7 weeks, for the first year of his life he was kenneled and never made a noise, then i moved, he came inside for a while and howled whenever i left the house, then i moved again, moved him back outside and hes quiet again. When you come home ignor the dog for five or ten minutes. All the crate will do is stop it chewing it won't stop the anxiety. You need to put the dog in its place, below you. Good luck! Crating your dog can help to ease its anxiety by giving it a small, secure space, especially if the crate is covered on the top and three sides by a blanket. I creates a den effect. You should feed our dog in it as well to make it a place he likes being in. Try leaving the radio on as well to create a bit of background noise. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
