let the game run before the ban after diging it.I completely understand vermin control,but when there was no restriction on hunting before who just let the quarry off?Personally we let everything go when possible,we worked the dogs for the sport and removed the quarry to more suitable spots if requested.Just thought it might be an interesting topic.

I always thought too that a pre worked quarry knew what was coming and pushed the dog to the limits in an effort to escape, thus testing the dog that bit more than than a beast never before dug.Some times I even thought you could see a difference in the desperate attempts of the quarry trying to make good his escape,but it may have been just a very fiesty animal that wont take much pushing around.Hope that makes sense,lol.

yeah your educating the stuff so it bound to get grumpy,in some cases very grumpy.round me they even seem to be goin to the difficult parts of the earths,ie under trees stone walls.etc.when dug them first straight to stop end out in no time.changing everytime go to them now.good test for the dogs thou.hope that makes sense.

spot on. we killed far more when we where younger. now only at the request of the farmers.

kill them all then where do the next ones come from.let them run for another day if possible.ones years quarry at a young age is a good test 12 months later when its been educated.

Nearly always let it run unless the terrier has it finished or the farmer wants it done,to me its all about working the dog not killing the game,there is enough been shot,snared and poisoned not to mention road kills without us killing them aswell.

When we're raking we let everything run. You can only kill something once, once it's dead you can't dig it again...
