Got an invite out with a couple of lads today to get my pup out seeng a bit, wouldn't normally take a pup not broken to ferrets as I see it as a pointless excercise but with a few of us on hand I could have her on the slip when needed not having to worry about other things going on.

My pup was shown the ferrets in the car park before we set off and with a couple of words in the right direction we considered her told :D

We had a little rough coat lurcher bitch and a couple of beagle russell types ( sorry lads dont know the exact breeding ) to teach my pup a thing or two.

We walked the hedge rows with the terriers working steadily and the lucher following closely, great to see my pup keeping up with what was going on.

We netted up a few sets that the dogs had marked deliberatley missing a few holes to give the dogs a run. One thing we all had in common none of us were interested in numbers in the bag it was 100% all about watching the dogs work and to say they worked well is an under statement.

One of the terriers is a year old working and marking well, the other is about 5 and what I would call the complete package, steady as a rock, marking and catching in cover, in fact I did comment that if they all worked like that we would all own one,lot to be said for getting them out every day.

The little rough coat lurcher bitch is everthing I want my pup to be when working around the sets, an absolute pleasure to watch her work i have to say.

I aint gotta sit here and blow smoke up these lads arses they got the dogs that do the job and they know what they got, the perfect little team for my pup to learn from so cheers lads for a great day out
