MR TEA POT 1,287 Posted November 13, 2011 Report Share Posted November 13, 2011 Well,i put a post up offering folks a day out and liam replied so saturday he came up along with bodgerbear(rob),the plan was to do two big warrens streching along two hedges,so they met at mine at 6:15am after a few cups of tea well for me and rob liam dont drink tea ill have to change that .We set off to the farm,as we was getting there rob was having a bit of trouble with his guts he was in the curry house last night,this time he had bought his own bog roll after the last time .So we got to the first hedge and purse netted up about 40 holes while rob was f@@king about with his brand new quickset net ,anyway ferrets entered and we waited 2 mins later a rabbit hits the purse net,so we was off the mark then that was it for about 20 mins then a rabbit bolted up the hedge and dropped in to a hole with no purse net on,so i took a ferret up with the plan of bolting back to get back netted but no....the ferret went in a bit of thumping a rabbit bolted round the stupid useless poxy fing longnet across the field to another sett ,the ferrets where showing so we picked up nets,by this time i was feeling a bit low its always the same you invite some one up to show them a bit of sport and you dont get much,liam said he was not bothered about numbers which made me feel a bit better .So on to the next sett me and liam was setting the purse nets on a hdge on a steep hill,rob was setting his useless poxy fing long net,so nets down ferrets in,couple of mins 2 rabbits hit the nets,i cheered up a bit then a dig to 1 about 2ft down,moving up the hedge with the ferrets 2 more rabbits hit the purse nets and another dig of about 1 1/2 foot,so we worked our way up the hedge bolting rabbit into the purse nets all the while rob waiting near the long net(waste of time ) all the rabbits bolted hit the purse nets except one which bolted from a unnetted hole and ran the oppistie way from the long net and was backnetted ,i said to rob you might as well sell that net its brand new hasnt been used .After that we went to a little mound and bolted 2 more rabbits 1 of which slipped somebodys badly set purse net .Yes the poxy usless long net was sett out but the rabbit ran the other way .So 11 rabbits at the end of the day,a good laugh in great company thanks lads . A few pics The hedgerow we did. A few nets down. Rob need to get rid of last nights curry must have been one hell of a curry Rob setting the useless BRAND NEW NEVER BEEN USE long net END OF DAY PICS. Then back to mine for a brew,which the lads paddle muck and crap in the house ,the missus gave them a bollocking and told them to tidy up which they did :laugh: 2 Quote Link to post

Had plenty of practice setting my quickset net so hopefully get something next. As always great host and great to meet others off here.
