jessythewhippet 25
after a hard night out i give mine a bowl of is normal food and if neccesary drink of electrolytes I often wondered what do people mean by a hard night/day, like how many runs/courses would you call hard day/night It's relative to the individual dog and how fit it is old it is etc? For a average dog(if there is such a thing) lamping rabbits anything over 15 runs is starting to be a decent work out, but it depends on the individual dog! Im talking about my 3year-old pure whippet What would be hard on her? Edited November 13, 2011 by jessythewhippet Quote Link to post

sandymere 8,263
Water and a light meal of protein, fat and carbs if home within 1/2 an hour or so, drink first. If longer than 1/2 hour then a light snack once back to the car and tongue in, again after a drink. Can make your own, raw egg, water and a couple of biscuits, or give a little complete, add some extra add water to completes.. Basically meat / eggs etc are mainly water and by adding extra water to the completes you get the same amount of fluid per amunt of protein etc. Any extra fluids will help to flush the waste products through the kidneys so adding more is helpfull, Dogs carb load through a fast uptake system whilst working and for around twenty minutes afterwards, this gives better restocking than is otherwise possible, hence faster recovery.
